Scotland, on the other hand, will not be disappointed. Following George Munsey’s 66* off 53 against the West Indies, it was Michael Jones’ turn against Ireland. Jones kept the innings together with a magnificent 85-ball knock. Richie Berrington, the captain, also played a fine hand of 37 from 27 balls. The Scottish do require a strong effort from Matthew Cross.

Scotland’s opening bowlers, Mark Watt and Brad Wheal, who combined for 5 wickets against the West Indies, struggled against Ireland. Off-spinner Michael Leask has been frugal thus far, and his involvement in this game will be critical.
