Chennai Super Kings (Match Odds – 1.90):

Preview:

We saw changes for Gujarat Titans on Friday, reflecting the difference in conditions from Chepauk to Ahmedabad, and there will be discussion in the Chennai camp about whether to pick an additional pace bowler or spinner in this game. Overall, we expect to see the same XI that defeated Gujarat in the playoffs.

Although Akash Singh was used earlier in the tournament as a bowling impact substitute, Matheesha Pathirana has been very successful in the role in recent games, dismissing Vijay Shankar and Mohammed Shami on Tuesday. In each of his first four appearances in the competition, Akash Singh took a wicket.

Chennai Super Kings have won four of their last five games and have only lost one of their last six. They have, however, lost all three of their IPL matches at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Full Squad:

Players to watch out for:

Ruturaj Gaikwad

The 26-year-old opener has a particularly strong record against Gujarat Titans, having scored a half-century in each of their four matches. He led the Chennai Super Kings in scoring in both games against Gujarat this season, and he averages 69.50 against this particular franchise.

Devon Conway

Earlier in the week, the New Zealander was far from fluent or appealing to the eye in Qualifier 1. Despite this, he managed to contribute 40 runs and is an important player for Chennai Super Kings. He finished the match as their leading run scorer in six IPL 2023 games.

Deepak Chahar

It’s been an incredible turnaround for the right-arm pace bowler, who started the tournament with 13 wicketless overs in his first four matches. Since then, he has dismissed some of the competition’s biggest names, including both Gujarat Titans openers earlier this week.

Possible Playing XI:

Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Shivam Dube, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (c) (wk), Moeen Ali, Deepak Chahar, Tushar Deshpande, Maheesh Theekshana

Gujarat Titans (Match Odds – 1.90):

Preview:

Gujarat Titans made changes following their defeat to Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday on a slow and sticky Chepauk wicket. There were no spots for Dasun Shanaka or Darshan Nalkande, and neither player is expected to return for this game.

Sai Sudharsan was out on 43 in Qualifier 2 and hit 47 in his final two innings. He’ll most likely be called up during the batting innings. If a pace bowler is needed, Shivam Mavi is the obvious choice.

Gujarat Titans’ only loss in their last four games was to Chennai Super Kings in the playoffs last Tuesday. In the 2023 IPL, the Titans have won five of their eight matches at this venue.

Full Squad:

Hardik Pandya (c), Shubman Gill, David Miller, Abhinav Manohar, Sai Sudharsan, Wriddhiman Saha, Matthew Wade, Rashid Khan, Rahul Tewatia, Vijay Shankar, Mohammed Shami, Alzarri Joseph, Yash Dayal, Pradeep Sangwan, Darshan Nalkande, Jayant Yadav, R. Sai Kishore, Noor Ahmad, Kane Williamson, Odean Smith, KS Bharat, Shivam Mavi, Urvil Patel, Joshua Little, Mohit Sharma

Players to watch out for:

Shubman Gill

The Indian international opener entered Friday’s playoff match as the tournament’s second highest run scorer, but quickly passed Faf du Plessis to become the tournament’s leading batter. He had never averaged more than 35 in an IPL season before this year, but he now has a season average of 60.79.

Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan was used within the powerplay by his skipper against Mumbai Indians on a difficult bowling wicket against a strong batting line-up. In Qualifier 2, he took two crucial wickets. He first got Tilak Varma with the last ball of the powerplay, and then he got Tim David in the 16th over.

Mohammed Shami

In the most recent match, the pace bowler delivered early for Gujarat Titans. However, he also gave up 24 runs in one over and will be looking to improve his economy rate in this match. He is most dangerous in the early overs, but he will pose a threat throughout.

Possible Playing XI:

Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya (c), David Miller, Vijay Shankar, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Mohit Sharma, Noor Ahmad, Mohammed Shami, Josh Little

Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans Batsmen Worth Watching

Batting options for the Chennai Super Kings include Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, and Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane has been in unusually aggressive form this year in the IPL, impressing in many of his innings. Conway needs five fours in this game to reach 100 for the season.

Our batting picks for Gujarat Titans are Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and David Miller. Gill’s performance in the 2023 IPL is well known, but he has also been outstanding in international cricket this year. On Friday, Captain Pandya hit 28 not out from only 13 balls.

Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans Bowlers Worth Watching

Our bowling picks for Chennai Super Kings are Rahul Chahar, Tushar Deshpande, and Ravindra Jadeja. Deshpande is the top wicket-taker for the Chennai Super Kings this season, and he dismissed the dangerous Rashid Khan in Tuesday’s game. Jadeja bowled Hardik Pandya in Match 1 and took 2-18 in the playoff earlier this week.

With the ball, we’ve chosen Mohammed Shami, Rashid Khan, and Mohit Sharma for the Gujarat Titans. Mohit Sharma is in great form heading into this game, having taken 5-10 on Friday to go with his 2-31 against the Chennai Super Kings earlier in the week. Rashid Khan needs one more wicket to reach 140 IPL wickets in 109 games.

Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans Head to Head

Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by 15 runs in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday, their first victory over the Titans in four attempts. Ruturaj Gaikwad of the Chennai Super Kings was named Plater of the Match after scoring 60 runs off 44 balls at the top of the order. Earlier in the tournament, Gujarat Titans won by 5 wickets with 4 balls remaining in Match 1, and Rashid Khan was named Player of the Match with figures of 2-26.

Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans Prediction

With the teams meeting for the third time this season and the second time in a week, it is safe to say that the players will be very familiar with one another. The Chennai Super Kings won on Tuesday, but it was in front of their home fans on a very different surface, and we believe that the Gujarat Titans will benefit from home advantage.

Furthermore, despite the fact that Shubman Gill did not score a century in the playoff against Chennai, the only match in his last four in which he did not score a century, he still scored 42 runs. He is the tournament’s form player, and we expect a big score from him on Sunday to help Gujarat Titans win the championship. Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan have been the standout bowlers in the 2023 IPL alongside him. The Chennai Super Kings have quality in Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway, but not to the same extent as their opponents. Gujarat Titans are our pick to win. Check out the odds at Cricbaba!

Gujarat Titans is the favourite to beat Chennai Super Kings at the odds of 1.90.

Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans Most Recommended Player for Bet:
