In their first home game of the season, the Rajasthan Royals will face the Lucknow Super Giants. Sanju Samson batted brilliantly at number four, scoring 60 off 32 balls to lead RR to their third consecutive victory.
LSG failed to extend their winning streak after their batting failed in sticky conditions in Lucknow. Rahul’s 74 off 56 helped LSG finish batting first with 159 runs against Punjab.
It may not appear to be a large total, but it would have been sufficient, and there were chances that LSG would have failed to capitalize in the second innings of the match. KL Rahul claimed they were 10 runs short, but we believe it was simply a failure to execute the bowling plans at the end.
Nonetheless, he has some batting issues to work out. They can’t always rely on Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran to come to their aid, and they need Rahul, Pandya, and Hooda to step up and deliver.
The 26th Match between Rajasthan Royals vs Lucknow Super Giants will take place on April 19th, 2023 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.

Sanju Samson is definitely a contender for World Cup selection. The RR captain was out for a duck in two consecutive games before leading the comeback against GT.
Rajasthan Royals were 55 for 4 in the 11th over of their 178-run chase in Ahmedabad. Samson and Hetmyer combined for 59 off 27 balls for the fifth wicket.
R Ashwin also played a useful knock in the 19th Over, scoring 10 off 3 balls, ensuring that RR were comfortably placed to chase down the target in the final over.
Hetmyer’s 56 off 26 balls ensured that the Royals’ chase was not derailed after Samson’s departure. Jos Buttler is an important part of this batting lineup, but Samson and Hetmyer’s ability to stage a comeback shows that RR isn’t entirely reliant on him.
As a result, the England batsman at the top has more freedom. Yashaswi Jaiswal has also looked sharp in previous appearances and will be eager to get RR off to another flying start.
Trent Boult, who has been expensive recently, can be an important bowler for RR given the playing conditions in Jaipur. The spinners would also have a good time, making Chahal and Zampa key players to keep an eye on.
Sanju Samson (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shimron Hetmyer, Devdutt Padikkal, Jos Buttler, Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag, Sandeep Sharma, Trent Boult, Obed McCoy, Navdeep Saini, Kuldeep Sen, Kuldip Yadav, R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, KC Cariappa, Jason Holder, Donovan Ferreira, Kunal Rathore, Adam Zampa, KM Asif, Murugan Ashwin, Akash Vashisht, Abdul P A, Joe Root
Possible Playing XI:
Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Adam Zampa, Sandeep Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal
Lucknow Super Giants were defeated by Punjab Kings in a close game played at home. KL Rahul and company had chances in the game, and if their bowling and fielding had been a little better at the end, they could have won.
Mark Wood and Jaydev Unadkat will be key members of the LSG squad in Jaipur. Unadkat has previously played here, and Wood can benefit from the surface if the Giants win the toss and bowl first. KL Rahul appears to be in good form but needs to improve his strike rate at the top.
But, before he can shift gears, the captain must be confident in his middle order. While Krunal Pandya did play a useful knock in the chase against SRH, he hasn’t had much of an impact.
Furthermore, Deepak Hooda appears to have lost his way. This is causing concern in the LSG camp, as they appear to be becoming increasingly reliant on Marcus Stoinis and, in particular, Nicholas Pooran in the lower order.
These two are capable finishers, but if given larger roles on a consistent basis, their failure could cost Lucknow dearly. But if the two get going and Ayush Badoni joins in, LSG can finish on a high note and successfully chase a total.
KL Rahul (c), Ayush Badoni, Karan Sharma, Manan Vohra, Quinton de Kock, Marcus Stoinis, Krishnappa Gowtham, Deepak Hooda, Kyle Mayers, Krunal Pandya, Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan, Mark Wood, Mayank Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, Nicholas Pooran, Jaydev Unadkat, Yash Thakur, Romario Shepherd, Daniel Sams, Amit Mishra, Prerak Mankad, Swapnil Singh, Naveen-ul-Haq, Yudhvir Charak
Possible Playing XI:
KL Rahul (c), Kyle Mayers, Deepak Hooda, Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Jaydev Unadkat, Amit Mishra, Avesh Khan, Mark Wood, Ravi Bishnoi

Teams that bat first have won 32 of the 47 domestic T20 matches played on this field. As the match progresses, it becomes easier to bat on this ground as the pacers enjoy only the early overs. Furthermore, both teams have a strong lower order with dependable big-hitting finishers and would be at ease chasing down a target.
Rajasthan Royals vs Lucknow Super Giants Pitch Report
The Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur will host the first IPL 2023 match between RR and LSG. In the T20s, the average first-inning score is 158 runs. The outfield at this venue is fast, and since batting becomes easier as the night progresses, teams batting first should aim for a score of 180 or higher to have a good chance of winning.
The pitch has some green on it, which will help the fast bowlers early in the match. The bounce is even, and the ball comes on quickly, allowing batters to play their strokes freely. Furthermore, dew is likely to fall, which will make scoring runs much easier in the second innings. The weather will be partly cloudy on match day, with temperatures ranging from 31 to 33 degrees Celsius from 7:30 p.m.
Rajasthan Royals vs Lucknow Super Giants Prediction
The home team will have an advantage in this game. They are in great shape and have winning momentum, especially after their recent victory led by skipper Sanju Samson.
