Bangladesh (Match Odds – 5.10):

Preview:

In limited-overs cricket, Bangladesh is always dangerous at home. However, how they deal with the absence of captain Tamim Iqbal remains to be seen. The BCB has yet to name a captain or a replacement for Tamim as of this writing. In his absence, Mushfiqur Rahim or Shakib Al Hasan will most likely lead the team.

Litton will be Bangladesh’s batsman to watch in this series. He is the team’s leading run-scorer in One-Day Internationals this year, with 500 runs in 10 games at an average of 62.50. Afif Hossain (335 runs in 12 games at an average of 55.83) and Mamudullah (299 runs in 12 games at an average of 59.80) have also performed admirably. Mushfiqur Rahim has struggled with the bat this year, but his experience in the middle order will come in handy.

With Taskin out for the first game, it will be up to Musftafizur Rahman (12 wickets at an economy of 4.35 in 11 ODIs in 2022), Shakib Al Hasan (8 wickets in 6 matches at 4.24), and Hasan Mahmud to deliver against India’s formidable batters.

India (Match Odds – 1.17):

Preview:

After fielding a second-string side in New Zealand, India will be delighted to welcome Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul back to their squad. Rohit has 171 runs at an average of 34.20 in 6 ODIs in 2022, with two half-centuries, and will be eager to get some solid scores under his belt in this series. Kohli, too, has had a poor year in ODIs, scoring 175 runs at an average of 21.87. However, the star Indian batsman has recently regained his form, and we can expect some big scores from him this series.

Shreyas Iyer is in sensational form and is by far India’s best ODI batsman right now. In 2022, the right-hander has scored 566 runs at an average of 62.88 in 11 One-Day Internationals, with one century and five half-centuries. KL Rahul is expected to bat at No. 5 after averaging 56.62 in 10 ODIs at that position.

Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Deepak Chahar, Axar Patel, and Washington Sundar are all likely to be called up to India’s bowling squad. Siraj has been outstanding in ODIs this year, taking 12 wickets at a 4.45 economy rate. Sundar demonstrated his all-round abilities in New Zealand, where he shone as a lower-order batter. His bowling should be suited to the pitches in Bangladesh.

Full Squad:

Rohit Sharma (C), KL  Rahul (VC), Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Shreyas Iyer, Rahul Tripathi, Rishabh Pant (WK), Ishan Kishan (WK), Shahbaz Ahmed, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Deepak Chahar, and Kuldeep Sen

The pitch at Dhaka’s Shere Bangla National Stadium has traditionally been good for batting with some spin assistance. It is a little slow, and playing shots will be difficult at first.

The weather in Mirpur is expected to be warm and clear on the day of the game.

Bangladesh vs India Prediction

India has dominated Bangladesh in one-day internationals, winning 30 of the 36 games played against them. They have also won all five of their previous one-day internationals against the Bangladesh Tigers. Bangladesh last defeated India in an ODI in June of 2015. Despite Bangladesh’s home advantage, India will start as clear favourites in this match. The home team’s best chance is to keep the Men in Blue under 250 points. Check out the odds at Cricbaba!

India is the favourite to beat Bangladesh at the odds of 1.17.

Bangladesh vs India Most Recommended Player for Bet:

Shreyas Iyer has been the in-form batter for India in one-day internationals, and he has looked in great form whenever he has been given an opportunity. The right-hander is expected to be ranked fourth, and he will have the opportunity to qualify for the 2023 World Cup. Despite his struggles with the short ball, Iyer averages close to 50 points per game in the format. We believe he is India’s best batter against Bangladesh.
