ICC Mens T20 World Cup 2022: India vs South Africa – Match 30 Preview and Updates

India vs South Africa – After an early batting collapse, former India captain Virat Kohli led India’s comeback against Pakistan. India has been on a roll since then, with some fantastic performances from all of their key players.

Suryakumar Yadav demonstrated why he is India’s most valuable asset in the T20 middle order after a memorable finish from Kohli against Pakistan. With everyone showing up, including Rohit Sharma and the bowlers, India appears to be ready for the South Africa challenge in Perth.

India defeated South Africa in a home series just before the start of the T20 World Cup. South Africa, on the other hand, can never be written off given the depth of T20 talent in this squad.

Rossouw has returned to the team and is in fantastic form. His century against Bangladesh in the previous match was his second of the month. The left-handed batsman hit an unbeaten century against India in the third T20I earlier this month in Indore.

The Super 12 Group 2, 30th Match between India vs South Africa will take place on October 30th, 2022 at Perth Stadium, Perth.

India (Match Odds – 1.55):

Preview:

India appeared to be on the verge of another World Cup exit when they were four wickets down for 31 runs against Pakistan. A loss in the first game has a significant impact on the team’s performance in subsequent games.

Kohli did exactly what he does best. Complete games. That innings motivated everyone and had a significant impact on the other batters in the lineup. Except for KL Rahul, the rest of India’s top order performed admirably in the second match.

At the top, Rohit Sharma scored a fifty, as did Suryakumar Yadav at number four, but at a much faster rate. With Virat Kohli at number three, India’s lineup appears well-balanced and promises another high-intensity batting performance.

Dinesh Karthik remained in the XI, and Pant was overlooked even against the Netherlands. The veteran wicket-keeper batsman appears to have the support of the team management to be a finisher lower down the order.

Given how little he gets to play when he arrives at the crease, we don’t think Karthik’s selection will be very effective.

India will most likely continue to field two spinners. The pace department, led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is back in form, and rising star Arshdeep Singh, looks as promising as ever. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be lethal in the powerplay, while Shami will be able to break any developing partnership in the middle overs.

Full Squad:

Rohit Sharma (c), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya, R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammad Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi, Shardul Thakur

Players to watch out for:

Virat Kohli

The former captain struggled with form earlier this year but has been in excellent form in recent months. He has yet to be dismissed in the T20 World Cup 2022 and has an T20I average of 52.82.

Suryakumar Yadav

The number four batter leads the league in run scoring this calendar year. He was named Player of the Match after scoring 51 runs off 25 balls against the Netherlands.

Arshdeep Singh

The left-arm pace bowler has had an outstanding start to his international career. Since making his debut in July, he has taken 24 wickets at an average of 18.54.

Possible Playing XI:

KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma (c), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh

South Africa (Match Odds – 2.45):

Preview:

In recent games, the Proteas have appeared to be in good form. Despite being outplayed in T20Is and ODIs during their India tour, they appear to have recovered well in Australia.

The pitches here are appropriate for South African cricket. Whether it’s their pace bowling or their aggressive batting, bounce and carry are always good for South Africa.

In this lineup, Rilee Rossouw is the key player to keep an eye on. Quinton de Kock, who has played against Indian bowlers in the IPL, will be expected to lead the batting effort.

While Markram remains in the middle order, the Proteas appear to be giving the young Tristan Stubbs more opportunities to express himself. Stubbs was selected ahead of Markram at number four against Bangladesh.

South Africa’s true match-finisher is David Miller at number 5 or 6. He’s been in great form this year, and his performances for Gujarat Titans in the IPL demonstrated why he’s such a reliable batsman.

South Africa’s spinners will be crucial with the ball. Rabada and Nortje can be lethal with the new ball and cause problems for KL Rahul. However, as the game progresses, Indian middle-order batsmen are likely to play freely against the best Proteas bowling.

As a result, it will be up to the spinners to provide their team with breakthroughs whenever a partnership appears to be taking the game away.

Full Squad:

Temba Bavuma (c), Quinton de Kock, Heinrich Klaasen, Reeza Hendricks, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Wayne Parnell, Kagiso Rabada, Rillee Rossouw, Tabraiz Shamsi, Tristan Stubbs, Marco Jansen, Bjorn Fortuin, Andile Phehlukwayo, Lizaad Williams

Players to watch out for:

Rilee Rossouw

The 33-year-old top-order batter hit 109 runs off 56 balls on Thursday at the Sydney Cricket Ground, raising her average to 41.68 in this format.

Quinton de Kock

The keeper-batter has started the tournament strongly. He scored 63 runs off 38 balls against Bangladesh after scoring 47 runs off 18 balls against Zimbabwe.

Anrich Nortje

On Thursday, the right-arm pace bowler dismissed both of Bangladesh’s openers and took the crucial wicket of Shakib Al Hasan. He’ll enjoy the pace of the Perth wicket.

Possible Playing XI:

Quinton de Kock (wk), Temba Bavuma (c), Rilee Rossouw, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Tristan Stubbs, Wayne Parnell, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Tabraiz Shamsi

Only three T20Is have been played at this venue, with teams batting second winning two of them. Teams batting first won 13 of the 21 domestic T20 matches. Both teams have dependable big-hitting match finishers in their lower order and will be content to chase a total here.

In BBL matches, the average first innings total at Perth Stadium is 167 runs. The only T20Is played here began the T20 World Cup, and none of them have been particularly high-scoring. Given the current form of both teams, we anticipate a high-scoring affair with a thrilling finish.

The Perth pitch has a lot of speed and bounce to it. Bowlers like Nortje, Rabada, and Shami will have a great time here. The forecast calls for cloudy skies and a high temperature of 17 degrees Celsius.

India vs South Africa Prediction

When it comes to T20Is, India is always the favorite to win. South Africa, on the other hand, has demonstrated how good they can be even against the best T20 team in the world. The Proteas are dangerous with the ball, and if India loses Kohli early in the innings, the men in blue will be put to the ultimate test. India also has a strong bowling attack that includes in-form and consistent pacers.

All of this points to a hard-fought match between two of the best T20 sides in the world. In our match prediction, India will start as the favorite due to their current form and squad strength. Check out the odds at Cricbaba!

India is the favourite to beat South Africa at the odds of 1.55.
